   Dear Friend ...

   It was over 20 years ago I was trying to earn enough money online to quit my day-job and work online full time.  

   That was my 'burning-desire'... and I invested-in coaching... courses... masterminds... seminars... memberships... home-study-courses... and books... and anything else you can imagine.  

   I was manic-obsessed!

   But listen, there is one glorifying moment I can 'date-back-to'... over 20 years ago now... where I joined a mastermind (and group project) with other dreamers who wanted nothing more than to quit their day-jobs as well.  

   In our minds, inside this group of misfits... we were ALL going to earn a fortune together as part of this group launch!  We were going to get RICH!

   I was "all-in" on this groupie thing... and I was banking everything I had on this being the ONE single glorifying opportunity allowing me to FINALLY breakthrough and earn enough to quit that stinking day job forever and ever!

   This was it!  I knew it in my bones!

   However, after a ton of work, the project did NOT earn a dime. The launch did zero.  Nobody made a penny.  Everyone was discouraged and it was all our own faults.  

   There was nobody to blame but ourselves!

   It was a good product and "online-course" we created... it had a ton of high-quality content and trainings in it... but nobody bought it and it did not make jack-wagon squat for money!  

   I was highly upset.  I was banking on this project being "the one!"

   So, I decided to "ask" others why they thought it failed.  I went on an interviewing mission to ask one simple question, "why do YOU think this awesome product failed miserably?!?"

   At this point, I did not care about embarrassing myself and admitting something failed... I wanted to know **WHY** it failed so badly... and **WHAT** could be done correctly the next time around....

   I asked gurus, experts and anyone who seemed like they knew "online marketing" at that time back over 20 years ago.  I asked all kinds of strangers and guru's and famous people in the community **WHY** they thought my project & launch failed.

   One guru, who became a friend of mine after this, simply said, "Nobody could generate any heat in that group".  

   Heat??

   He said, "yeah, heat, nobody has any firepower in that group.  Sure, you all created great content and all, but nobody sent any traffic... or enough traffic... to make it work well!"

   He was so right... because the copywriting was great... the offer was good enough... the training was 'off-the-charts' awesome... but nobody in that group could generate enough leads to make a dent.

   We were all "wannabe's" who could not produce enough clicks to make any money, and that was the reason we all had day-jobs and failed year after year!  It was discouraging on one hand, but a revelation on the other hand!

   It was the 800 pound gorilla in the room!

   All this project got was a drip (trickle) of traffic & leads.  It was an embarassment of a product launch because none of us had any firepower at all.  NONE of us could produce traffic and leads to save our lives!

   And that was the sole reason the project and business failed a miserable death.

   I thought it was the offer... or the content... or the copywriting... but the 800lb gorilla in the room nobody wanted to 'look-at' was the humongous lack of traffic missing!

   A click here and there... a lead here and there... was like a little old grandma whispering to you at a crowded "rock concert"!!  

   All that work was down the drain and wasted time.  

   All that work did nothing but create yet another failure.

   Everyone was discouraged, most quit entirely and I've never seen them again.

   Me, I had to know what I did wrong.

   Failure was just another chance to do it again, but better the next time around.  I had no choice, I had hitched my wagon to the online marketing world and I would die trying no matter what!

   I was on the verge of getting married, and I wanted out of that dead end job. I wanted a better life.  I wanted a family of my own.  I wanted to provide abundance for my family and a great life.  

   I grew-up poor and broken... so I wanted my own family to have abundance and happiness and freedom and love!  I wanted to be someone instead of some broken, poor, misguided, lost kid from South Texas.

   Yet, I kept failing... I kept embarrassing myself... I kept SHAMING myself... I'd lose hope and want to quit, only to feel better a few days later and try yet again like some stubborn donkey.

   I had to know WHY I failed.  I was ready to look in the mirror and embrace my faults, weaknesses, and challenges.

I FINALLY FOUND THE ANSWER TO MY PROBLEMS ONLINE, AND IT WAS A SEVERE LACK OF TRAFFIC!

   I ASKED a ton of gurus and when one told me we all lacked "fire power"... I found the answer I was looking for.  I needed to get masterful at generating traffic & leads!

   It was then, my first move was to buy ebooks on eBay.  Back then, you could sell and buy ebooks on eBay.  I snatched up every ebook I could find on how to get traffic and leads online.

  I devoured every book, course, membership program, coach, seminar, DVD I could get my hands on... 

   One topic... one mission... one NEW obsession... getting traffic & leads!

   I spent my bonus check on driving traffic from Google Adwords!

   I spent my profit sharing check on buying more courses and learning SEO, advertising online, attending traffic tactics seminars, traveling on the weekends to workshops and investing in coaching!

   Finally, I was getting TONS of traffic and leads!

   Finally, I was earning money online and I could see the light at the end of the tunnel for quitting my day job!

   I was earning 100-bucks to 200-bucks per day... sometimes even more... but my profits were still low, and I needed to quadruple my NET income to even sniff quitting my six figure day job.

   However, I was getting closer!  I had a renewed enthusiasm about my goals and actions and I felt I was well on my way!!  I also felt I knew something most out there did not... and that was how to generate traffic online!

  I'd see people online struggling to earn, asking questions on popular marketing forums back then, and the clear answer to their problems (to me) was getting traffic and leads.  That was the big 800 pound gorilla in the room they would not look at.

   They were like I used to be... they thought if they had a website... they'd earn... or if they had a good product... they'd earn... or if they'd follow the gurus... they'd earn big... but the big hairy problem in the room... A LACK OF TRAFFIC & LEADS, PERIOD!

   It seems even after mastering traffic & lead generation... I was still not making enough to quit my day-job.  I was getting a lot of traffic and doing everything I could to get all the traffic possible, but my net income was still not at the six figure mark and I started to get discouraged again.

   I knew in my gut something was still missing and I just could not figure it out.

   Why was I getting plenty of traffic... plenty of leads... but yet I was making under six figures still online.  It has been over a year now of learning traffic and lead generation, yet I still struggled to make any REAL money online.

   Back to asking gurus... interviewing them basically... and hiring coaches to help me breakthrough to six figures.

   Most of the coaching and people I got advice from failed short of helping me move the needle... and again, I was super discouraged, down and relatively depressed.  I was getting close to throwing in the towel, and started praying and asking God to show up and help me.  I was misserabe and at a breaking point.

   I'll never forget what happened next...

   I hired a legendary copywriter on a special coaching offer he offered up.  As part of this special offer, I would get a 45 minute phone call with him.  I jumped on it, I think it was $600 for 45 minutes or something like that.

  I was so nervous and I stayed up the entire night before the call preparing what to ask and what to say, and what I needed.  I was going to unload on him all my deep questions and try to get answers to all my problems!

   He got on the call and before I could ask him my first question, he said something like the following:

"Eric... I looked over your sites and offers and I read your questionnaire form you filled out... man... you need to brand yourself and pre-frame the leads to want to buy from you.

You're doing most everything right, but you're not using your name... you are not branding yourself... you're not pre-selling them on you... you're not turning anyone on to you... 

They don't know you...

They don't like you...

And they sure don't trust you...

You have no reputation... no proof factors... no case studies... no power in the niche markets you're in (which is too many different niche markets)... and you're not a "somebody" to them.

You have no magic about you.

Add more magic... put yourself out there... get a blog with your name on it... put your picture out there... and be somebody worth giving money to!

...Because you can get traffic and make money, sure, but you can make a whole lot more money... and much quicker... if your traffic and leads are turned-on to you!!"

   HE WAS FLAT RIGHT!

   I was getting leads, but they were cold leads... ICE COLD leads!!

   I was missing the conversions side of things from a deeper layer that was NOT just copywriting... it was "positioning" and "branding" and "proof factors" and all that jazz.

   I further learned later-on that every click is not created equal.

   Every piece of traffic you get is not the same.

   There's a big (giant) difference between a click from someone who knows you, like's you and trusts you, than there is from some ad you ran on Insta!

   Converting an "ice-cold" lead is hard... REAL HARD... too hard!!

   However, converting a warm lead or HOT lead... is a breeze!

   DING DING DING!!

   There was the missing piece of the pie!

   From there, I went on a branding mission... and a few months later after my conversation with that guru coach...
